NYC: low budget Japanese/British Actors
I am a 22-year old filmmaker who just signed an attatchment deal for myfirst screenplay with a studio in Hollywood, and I have an agent at CAA (Creative Artists Agency). I am currently developing the screenplay with this studiofor a projected mid-2006 production slot. In the mean time, I will be directing a low-budget indie feature called 'Hooligan' this February, with a shooting schedule that may spill over into March. The story revolves around twodisgraced Yakuza hitmen who come to Manhattan to hunt down and murder the man whokilled their master. It's a stylized gangster piece that promises to showcaseall actors involved.
We will be shooting in New York in February/March, so all actors must livein New York City.
IMPORTANT: Because of the ultra low-budget nature of the film, I am reallyonly looking for non-SAG, non-Union actors.
If the film turns out well, my agent will approach CAA with the opportunityto back the film and sell it. Due to the ultra-low budget status of the film,I cannot pay actors. The money we raised was just enough to purchase thehighest-grade High Definition camera on the market, plus a full Arri lightingkit and sound equipment. However, all principal actors will be provided back-end deals, meaning that actors will own a piece of the film. If the film getssold, actors get paid heavily. My cinematographer and I are looking to beginour directing/cinematography careers, and I am looking for actors willing todedicate themselves and begin their career as well. I need dedicated actors who aren't afraid of taking on complex characters.
This a hyper-stylized, cool film. I'm looking for the coolest actors in NewYork City. Character descriptions: 2 Japanese Males to play the two hitmen (age: 20s-30s). These are lead roles, and I need two ultra-cool Japanese actors, fluentin both Japanese and English. I need the two coolest Japanese actors in NewYork City. How cool? James Dean cool. Steve McQueen cool.
2 Japanese male actors (age: 40s-70s) to play elder Yakuza bosses (also mustbe fluent in both Japanese and English).
1 British Male (age: 40s-50s) to play a suave London gangster. This is avery cool leading role. I need a cool Brit whose not afraid to play a frighteningly volitile character (think Bob Hoskins in 'The Long Good Friday' meetsGary Oldman in 'The Professional'). Must have a British accent.
1 British Female (age: 20s-30s). The daughter of the London gangster who falls in love with one of the Japanese hitmen and changes his identity for him.She helps him assassinate his target.
