The Woman With A Past - Non Union Short Film

Female filmmaker casting an African (American) female child (2- 4yrs old)for a short non-speaking role in a student film. The short is an excerpt of an a British Council Award Winning Play 'The Woman With A Past'. Film will be submitted to festivals. (Non Actors strongly encouraged, child actors are welcomed too (SAG and Non- SAG - OK).The young actress must have the propensity to cry either on command ornaturally (Pls note: We will not hurt your child). The Scene will depict a frustrated mother whose husband has abandoned her with their child. It is an intense film, and we will be getting a child actor a permit.Half a day shoot - of course depending on the whims of the child. The parentor guardian will have to sign a release.The child will be required to bring a favorite toy of hers (teddy bear etc)which will be used as a prop in the film. She will not be dressed up all cute and pretty, actually, the more unkempt the better to show a sign of neglect for the purpose of this scene.
