Calling - Non SAG
This film is about a young African American girl's journey to finding her
way back into church. Shauna, 14, is an innocent, inexperienced school girl,
who doesn't know who she is or where she belongs. Through unfortunate
circumstances, Shauna is expelled from her private Christian school, and is dumped
into a home-school filled with delinquent kids. Wanting to fit in, Shauna finds
herself in an awkward situation with Wayne, the thug in the class. Her
involvement with Wayne causes, Rebecca, a ghetto white girl, to get extremely
jealous, and she picks fights with Shauna. The teacher, Beth, notices Shauna's
change, and questions her on the path she is taking. She advises her to go to a
weekend church service for teens. At the services, Shauna learns a great deal
about what she is going through, and decides to rededicate her life to
Christ. Back at the home school Shauna stands up for herself, and finally knows
who she is and where she belongs.
