BOY TOY
NYU Tisch School of the Arts Undergraduate Film Project
"Boy Toy" is about Trent, a twenty-two year old sophisticate. While
attending book lectures, Trent picks up and has a series of affairs with middle aged
women. It is only after being rejected by one of them that Trent begins to
learn about himself and his similarities with these older women. "Boy Toy" will
visually resemble a classical Hollywood melodrama from the fifties and is
stylistically and thematically influenced by French culture from the sixties.
TRENT 20-25 Male - dark haired and cute in a casual way; extremely
intelligent young man, sophisticated and interesting looking. Reads philosophy for
fun, functions at a slightly higher level than the people around him and knows
it.
LINDA 35-42 Female - dark blonde hair, beautiful and glamorous in a way that
only age can make you. Classy, funny and slightly dissatisfied with where
her life has taken her.
CHRISTINE 32-40 Female - dark hair, hides her intellect behind an outdated
veil of girlishness. Wants more than anything to re-experience youth.
SUSAN 35-42 Female - light hair, a woman from Trent's childhood, motherly
but still elegant and good-looking.
WOMAN 28-34 - light blonde hair, a young-intellectual type in sensible but
flattering clothes, ready to dispense wisdom and advise when it's needed.
ALBERT 22-27 Male - slick but un-outstanding looking professional young man.
A rival to Trent and an obnoxious guy as well.
SPEAKER 40-47 Female - academic and scholarly, she is an author of a new
book about desire
